Immoral America

I'm sure you've been watching the news and by now have heard that in Main middle school girls will be allowed to get the Birth Control Pill without a parents consent.  I don't know about you but I am outraged!!!  How dare the government take my parental authority over my child away from me!  I'm glad I don't live in Maine. Where are the morals in take the Birth Control Pill.  Its like telling the kids "Go ahead take them...we know your going to have sex anyways...we know you wont listen to your parents...we know your parents have told you not have pre-marital sex....so what...they don't need to know...its your right to have sex....here we have the solution for you!"  Wait though, the pill does not protect against STD's, so what now?  Most boys do not want to have a condom it "takes away from the feeling!!!" 

So how about letting the parents do their job...AND PARENTS DO YOUR JOB!!!  Don't be afraid if you child tells you "I HATE YOU!!!"  forget that, you're here to parent them not be their BFF! 11-at least 15 or 16 year olds DO NOT NEED TO LOOK SEXY!!!  They are children for crying out loud! They need to be involved in activities in your religious domination!  If you are a catholic, baptist, Mormon whatever, take an interest in your child's life...be a part of their lives! 

Another thing I learned yesterday when Mr. Bill Cosby came out on Oprah.  When your child says that their room is private...you know what...HECK NO! Its my house I can search if I want to.  You don't pay bills, you don't pay rent, you don't pay the mortgage!  Your rooms falls under the jurisdiction of Mom and Dad!  I really loved that Bill Cosby is trying to wake up this generations failing Moms and Dads.  I know a lot of Moms and Dads who are a part of their children's daily lives but my girls friends go home to and empty home!

My point to my rambling is this.  Morality in the US is falling.  We are teaching our children that abortion is OK.  Its all right to kill a helpless child.  We are teaching them that because we are failing in the morals in teaching them that sex...belongs in a loving relationship between a loving man and woman.  Sex, if for procreation, to build a bond between a man and woman.  It is not to be given away lightly! Once you give it away, you have given a piece of yourself to someone and guess what..YOU ARE NOT GETTING THAT BACK! THATS IT NO TURNING AROUND! So start at home, teach them about sex, don't be afraid of it.  You need to tell them that yes they can get pregnant the first time. Ask them if they think they will be ready to be a mom or dad...I urge you parents of boys...those boys aren't as Innocent as you may think...sure they are your babies...but your babies have friends who will put things in their minds.  It not the old adage of "Boys will be Boys"  will you be saying that when you have a granddaughter.  My FIL once said to my husband to go sew his oats!  Those little girls are someones babies...yeah lets see if he's saying that now with 5 granddaughters!  NO hes not! Teach the boys that there will be consequences for their actions and they cant just say..no I wont be responsible for it.  Thats how we will turn this all around, when we show our children that they need to fess up to their actions.  We cant take away the responsibility of it away.  No finger pointing and saying  "No your daughter seduced my son...Your son tricked my daughter by saying if you love me"  No...it takes 2 to tango as my husband once put it...it takes 2 to tango!

So today I go and I take my daughter to gymnastics practice.  On our way over there we see a swarm of people holding up signs.  "ABORTION KILLS CHILDREN!" said one and on and on a sea of people holding these signs up.  I smiled a warm feeling went over me.  I wish I knew this demonstration was happening, I would have been on the "front lines" with my girls.  Then my daughter asks..."Mom what is abortion?" and here is our conversation.

Mom: Well hun, abortion is when a baby gets sucked out of a mommy to kill it

DD: WHY WOULD ANYONE DO THAT MOM???!!

Mom: Because those women dont realize the value of human life.  They are to busy concerned with themselves.  Most women who do that dont have the morals that we do and they get offended when they are told their morals are wrong or on the wrong path.

DD: But mom, dont they realize that they are murdering someone?

Mom: I dont think so hun...see some women are pro-choice, but let me ask you this, did those women give a choice, a chance for that child to make their own decision?

DD: NO, they didnt they chose for that baby.  They didnt even give the baby a chance at life.

Mom: Thats right...so is pro-choice REALLY pro-choice

DD: NO...it like shutting up one person and forcing that one little person into something that it doesnt know.  Only one person gets a choice.

Mom: Thats right..so what would have been a better way for this woman who didnt want kids or children at that time to do or NOT to do. 

DD:  Not have sex...thats a given mom..duh??!!!  Why did she do it then if she didnt want kids.  I mean you tell me all the time..sex is for only a married man and woman and for the opportunity of children happening.

Mom: Some people,hun, have strayed from the Lord. Some dont believe in the Lord, so if you dont believe in the Lord, most people not all, wonte beleive that life starts from the moment the egg gets fertilized. 

DD:  Thats so sad.

Mom: I know hun, but whenever anyone tells you that its ok you just tell them its not because there is one person who will get hurt for sure in that deal.  The baby who wasnt given a choice!

So when you are given the choice to change a womans mind about abortion what will you do?  Will you just not say anything for the sake of not arguing? I have a challenge to you.  If you are one of the women reading this today and telling yourself, or yelling at me well the computer..that abortion is every womans right, I challenge you to view a video.  Dont be scared, its very graphic.  It is a live abortion taking place...yes you get to see a live abortion through the wonderful science of sonography.  I will warn you its very VERY graphic and not for the faint of heart.  If you believe abortion is wrong, watch it.  Save the link...spread the link.  Its worth it.  Every child created has a purpose in life, they were concieved for a reason, an abortion is killing the person who might have cured diabetes all together, found an immunization to all forms of cancer, or maybe even the peace maker for all the world.

Boutique Cafe, Funky Junk Co. & FFF

Its that time again Boutique Cafe has their newest latest podcast up.  This week they have interviewed Morgan of Funky Junk Co.  This lady is cool, she is funny and she has the most adorable little girl Ive ever seen (next to my girls ;o)  )  So she talked about finding stuff in yard sales, sometimes picking up someones trash on the side of the road and things.  Ive actually thought of doing that  however here in Laredo, people really just throw their JUNK away nothing worth salvaging really.  We don't have "antique" stores per say, but we do have a lot of old Mexican wrought iron stores here that have that antique look to them.  I wish I did live in an area that lent itself to so much of that here, I love to take old things and making it "my own".  I loved the interview, Ive chatted with Morgan a few times before and she is a really nice, cool fun gal!

This weeks fashion forward Friday is hats and scarfs to protect your beautiful long tresses!  Ummm sorry I don't do hats or scarfs, scarfs only in winter.  The way I protect my tresses is really and honestly either I don't go out when the sun is scorching hot or usually go out when its cloudy.  Also one way to protect your hair during the summer months is to use shampoos that help your hair out from heat. Ive found that those work very well.  Oh yeah and if you swim a lot, remember if you have some kind of blond highlights, bleach can turn your hair eeekkky green!!!!  BLAAAHHH, I noticed my hair turn this yucky tarnished green the day before. Now since I don't do hats and scars, I did search Etsy.com for some great hats and scarf and here is what I found.

This one here is pretty cute, I guess when you feel like gussying up.  It looks like a satin cloth with velvet.  I like it very much, who knows I might just go and get it! Here is the link to it

New Texas Laws Effective July 1st!!!

Subject: FW: NEW LAWS AS OF JULY 1

Heads up to Texas drivers as new laws go into effect this Sunday.....


Starting July 07..

1. Carpool lane - 1st time $1068.50 starting 7/1/07 (The $271 posted on the highway is old). Don't do it again because 2nd time is going to be double. 3rd time triple, and 4th time license suspended.

2. Incorrect lane change - $380. Don't cross the lane on solid lines or intersections.

Just remember when you get off the ramp from a highway, those double lines...yeah dont cross them, youll get fined.  How about if your behind a slow driver when a light turns green.  Think back to driving school, OHHH YEAHHHH you cant change lane in an intersection you have to wait at least 500 ft from crossing the intersection to do that. 

3. Block intersection - $485 so your waiting at a light and there is a street in the way, you cant block that street, youll get fined.

4. Driving on the shoulder - $450...Ok I know youve done this cause so have I when Im like in a hurry.  Again your at a light and you  need to make that right turn so you veer off to the shoulder and drive on it so you can turn.  Yeah thats a big no no!  It was a big no-no then and its a bigger no-no now!  Ive seen people being pulled over do doing that by police and the Texas Highway Patrole.  So dont risk it cause up ahead you never know that cruiser will be waiting for ya!

5. Cell phone use in the construction zone. - Double fine as of 07/01/07. Cell phone use must be "hands free" while driving. You cant use a cell phone when they are doing constructions on the streets or highways, that was always a give me for me but I guess some have nuts for brains!  That fine you see on the sign when your passing a constructions zone...yeah even if you are driving the speed limit, which ranges from 25 mph to 45 mph, if they catch you talking on a cell phone that fine will double....DOUBLE PEOPLE OK SO DONT USE THE PHONE!

6. Passengers over 18 not in their seatbelts - both passengers and drivers get tickets . Have a friend or loved one who hates the seatbelt.  Well if he/she is not wearing it the drive AND passanger not wearing it will be fined!  So drivers make sure you are responsible enough to be very firm and say "HEY PUT YOUR FREAKING SEAT BELT ON!!!" 

7. Speeders can only drive 3 miles above the limit. No more 5 mile rule anymore.  If its 50 mph the max you can do is 53 not 55. 

8. DUI = JAIL (Stays on your driving record for 10 years!) ENOUGH SAID!!! DONT DRINK AND DRIVE!!!! Oh yeah and you dont get a warning or nothing...if its your first DUI your butt gets hauled to jail not if and's or buts!

9. As of 07/01/07 cell phone use must be "hands free" while driving. Ticket is $285. They will be looking for this like crazy - easy money for police department. Again enough said.  Very easy people get yourself a bud set or a blue tooth.  You cant have the phone to your ear and be yapping it up people.  If you must take a call and dont have a bud set or blue tooth, pull over safely and take the call easy as that. If your on the highway get off and take the call.  Dont risk your life or the lives of other.  It takes one second to get into an accident. 

There you have it youve been warned, so dont pull a Paris Hilton when you get arrested because youve been told!
